| When it comes to keeping your automated gate safe a GateCrafters Infrared sensor is the way to go. One or two carefully placed sensors can keep your automatic gate opener from closing accidentally on a vehicle or more importantly on a person.
Having a wired sensor is more reliable and you don't need to worry about changing batteries. The GateCrafters Infrared sensor can be powered with 12/24 DC or AC voltage which can be conveniently powered off any GateCrafters low voltage automatic gate opener. With over a 30-foot range, this sensor can be used on virtually any residential or commercial driveway.

When used with the a single driveway gate, this post works as a "dummy." It is placed to be on the opposite side of the driveway than the gate is hinged on to provide a symmetrical appearance. This single post measures 8' x 3" x 3" or 10' x 4" x 4" depending on option selected and doesn't include hinges to highlight its a smooth surface. This post can compliment both pull-to-open and push-to-open setups, as well as gates that hinge on either the left or the right.
Installation requires setting the post approximately 2' deep into the ground , so the height will be about 6' - 8' after installation (depending on post size selected). Post comes finished in black with a top post cap.
The posts are made of 11 gauge steel (wall 1/8" thick) that has been galvanized and will match the product purchase. The posts also come with a standard post cap.
Steel that has been galvanized has many advantages. First, it is the most cost-effective, environmentally friendly option. Galvanization is one of the least expensive coating options available and powder coating is the most environmentally friendly. With both coatings, you are saving money in the long run and maintaining the green standard that GateCrafters.com is known for.

IMPORTANT! This post will be customized and built for the gate that you order, including: Estate Swing Gates, 3-rails gates, gate frames, forestry gates and our custom wrought aluminum gates. Hinges are included with custom wrought aluminum and 3 rails gate frames, for any other gate types, the hinges will be sold separately but attachment will be included.
