Sliding driveway gate openers have until now had an issue in which an automatic lock was not able to be used with the gate. All the automatic locks were designed for swinging gates because of the mounting plates and also required a wire across the gate which poses issues with a gate that slides and moves locations.

A common feature you’ll see is as a gate closes it slows down for the last few feet instead of banging shut. One problem with this feature is the lack of momentum as the gate closes reduces the amount of weight hitting the lock to below the weight needed for the gate to fully close and lock.
