These remotes are used to activate linear products remotely. The linear products will, in turn, activate the gate opener. The reason for not activating the gate opener directly is some people like the security of the Mega-Code remote. Others like the features of some of the linear products. For example, the AP-5 has 2 relays and can delete one remote without having to change the others. The RE-1 and RE-2 can do that as well and also keep a log of remotes used to enter. Linear’s MegaCode® series of digital transmitters are wireless radio controls designed for use with MegaCode format receivers. The MegaCode radio format provides unparalleled security. Each transmitter is pre-set at the factory to one of over 1,000,000 codes.

The Model ACT-34B 4-Channel Block Coded Key Ring Transmitter is designed for use with Nice/Linear’s access control products. The Model ACT-34B is a four-channel device supplied with a quick-disconnect key ring. Also included are lithium batteries with a five-year service life. A unique 10-second time-out feature prevents the system from being shut down by a single transmitter transmitting continuously. The transmitter is MegaCode format, which means each transmitter is factory preprogrammed with one of over 1,000,000 codes, virtually eliminating the possibility of code duplication. Because the receiver ”learns” each specific code, no unauthorized person can gain access to the system by reprogramming a transmitter. Block coded transmitters are factory programmed to a sequential series of transmitter ID codes. When used with a Nice/Linear access controller, transmitters can be locally or remotely programmed into memory by entering the first and last codes of the block into the system. They are not provided by Gate Crafters, however, most tools are available at local hardware stores for purchase or rental. Please refer to the Installation Manual for Tools Needed. | The MegaCode series of digital transmitters are wireless radio controls designed for use with MegaCode format receivers. The MegaCode radio format provides unparalleled security. The system can be programmed to more than a million different codes.
Each transmitter is pre-set at the factory to one of over 1,000,000 codes. The receiver is programmed by sending a signal to it from the transmiter that is going to be used with it. This stores the transmitter's codes into the receiver's memory. The receiver will activate only from these "memorized" transmitters.
